My name is Sandy Woosley and I am very excited for the adventure that awaits me and the team in Bolivia! As an educator I always enjoy sharing my past experiences with my students to be able to support whatever curriculum I am teaching at the time. I know that while on the High Lakes team I will gain an amazing experience to share with my students when I return.
I graduated from U.C. Davis with a B.S. in Human Development and a minor in Education. I went on to C.S.U. Sacramento and received a Multiple Subject teaching credential with a C.L.A.D. (Crosscultural, Language, and Academic Development) emphasis. I enjoy playing volleyball, playing board games, hiking, traveling, and spending time with my husband Clay, family, and friends. I enjoy being in the middle of new cultures and observing/experiencing how they are different from my culture.
I spent 6 weeks in West Africa doing a literacy program and 5 weeks in Thailand teaching English during two of my summers in college. Two different weeks I have gone down to Mexico to work on building a hospital for the people in San Quetin. All of these experiences through my church group were amazing and life changing! While I am on the field I will be encouraging my husband and supporting the rest of the team by helping out wherever I am needed.
